This special firing will happen at Vicki’s cozy home studio in Philomath. It may be cold and raining! We will do this rain or shine, but you can spend most of the time under covered space or indoors.
(The kiln will be fired about 4 times, you may not need to stay the whole time). Bring 1 to 3 pieces of bisque ware, totalling about 1/2 cubic ft. Tall and wide work may not fit or may be difficult to handle in these conditions, so please check in with Vicki about any out-of-spec work you hope to fire.
Take your time choosing from provided raku glazes and alternative firing processes like horse hair, tin foil saggar (which look great with smooth burnished or terra sig polished pots-ask me how when your piece is leather hard). There is also a microwave kiln for quick firing miniature work. Snacks are always welcome and especially good for these firings where we spend time waiting and socializing. Vicki will provide warm drinks.
This is dirty, smokey work! You’ll need to wear closed toe shoes and cotton/flannel/wool clothing (no synthetic clothing or you’ll have to wear the smelly jacket!)

Cancelling Enrollment: You can receive a refund of 95% if you cancel your enrollment more that 24 hrs prior to the class. You can also send a friend in your place. You will not receive a refund if you cancel less than 24 hours before the class.
